~4Dgifts/toolbox/bin/games README This new-as-of-version-4.0 binary games directory contains binaries + doc + data files (in ./.data) for various grafix[/audio] games. Unfortunately for various reasons, the source for these games is not available for distribution. for demo purposese, all games with an accompanying .sh file want to be initially fired up using this shell script. klondike: great appreciation to Tom Benoist at Interactive Effects for permission to include this marvelous IRIS GL implementation of the classic solitaire card game. Winners are rewarded with fireworks in the window. pods: pods requires a server in order to run. You start the server by specifying to pods which machine is the server, and how many players will play. For example, if the machine "katana" is the server, and three people are playing, you would execute pods on katana as: pods -local 3 Players on the other two machines would execute pods as: pods -katana If you're alone and would like to experiment, you can start pods in single player mode as: pods -local 1 If you want to play with more or less players than are already playing in a game, you will have to restart the game on all the machines that are playing. Pods will wait for all players to log in with the server before starting. sb: sb needs a call name to run. You can put in your login name, your nickname, or any other identifying name so sb can add that label to your spaceship. See the sb.sh script for a minimalist start-up sequence. Note the need to explicitly set space boulders is a is a shoot-em-up style game designed to be played with one or more players. The players move their ships about a field of space boulders trying to avoid collisions while attacking each other to rack up kill credits. If a space boulder gets too close just blast the thing into smaller pieces, but watch out! Each time a boulder is split there is a chance of releasing a space pod that may have been trapped inside.
